After taking his first gold of the year in the first leg, James De Los Santos also took the other one.
The current top e-kata karateka lorded it the 18-man field after defeating Romania’s Gabriel Nedelcu, 24.3-24, in the the final of the second leg of the Sportdata e-Tournament World Series, with results coming on Saturday morning.
De Los Santos leaned once more on his go-to form in Unsu to deny the Romanian and take his eighth gold of the year.
The 30-year-old earlier defeated William Tran of Sweden, 25.4-24.3, and Germany’s Markus Hecht, 24.5-23.2, in the first two rounds to advance into the quarterfinals.
From there he managed to outclass Cornelius Johnsen of Norway, 24.5-23.4, and edge out Sllvio Cerone-Biagoni, 24.9-24.1, to get into the gold medal bout.
While waiting for the results, the two-time ISKF champion had earlier received an award from his alma mater, De La Salle University, a Gawad Lasalyano for his world-class performance and excellence.
Fatima A-Isha Hamsain joined her in the spotlight after the 14-year-old copped the gold in the female U15 category of the said tournament. She took down Italy’s Micol Genta, 2-1, in the final.
