Pasaol can’t wait to settle unfinished business with fellow Zambo alum Black in Meralco

When Alvin Pasaol was selected as the ninth overall pick by Meralco, one of the first Bolts players to message him was Aaron Black.

“Welcome to the team brother! Let’s go,” read the message of the PBA Season 45 Most Outstanding Rookie.

After all, the two have some business to settle.

From the tailend of 2019 to the early part of 2020, the two were together on a loaded Zamboanga-Family’s Brand Sardines team in the MPBL.

Despite having a stacked roster, Zamboanga was humiliated by Davao Occidental — including a humiliating 28-47 defeat in the series opener.

With Meralco, Pasaol, the no. 2-ranked 3×3 player in the country, can’t wait to get on the court with Black once more.

“I’m excited to be working with Aaron Black and Kuya Chris Newsome. They’re guys I look up to,” quipped Pasaol in a statement from Meralco’s official social media team.

Pasaol feels motivated entering his first-ever PBA season. Not only because he wants redemption for him and Black, but also because the Bolts are coming off a semifinals appearance against eventual-champions Ginebra.

“I’m so motivated kasi nga nakapasok sila sa semifinals. Siguro dadagdagan lang namin ang efforts namin at makakapasok na sa finals. Gagawin ko ang makakaya ko para makatulong sa team at makakuha ng title.”
