Six of Premier Volleyball League’s teams have either already began or are set to begin training for the upcoming Open Conference.
Petro Gazz’s homebase Filoil Flying V Centre has already secured its clearance from both the San Juan local government and the Games and Amusements Board. Petro Gazz had already been training since last week.
Peak Form and Bali Pure, on the other hand, have also been cleared to train in Greenhills West, also in San Juan.
Finally, Ronac Gym in Shaw Boulevard has also gained clearance from both the Mandaluyong City Hall and GAB. Set to train there starting this week are Creamline, Choco Mucho, and Perlas.
New challengers PLDT and Cignal have also had their respected training facilities checked by the Manila City Hall.
PLDT will train in Roger Gorayeb’s second home, the gym of San Sebastian College – Recoletos located in Recto Avenue while Cignal chose Paco Arena. Both have been cleared by GAB as well.
Protocols have also been set, according to PVL president Ricky Palou.
An hour before the session begins, the gym must be sanitized and normal temperature checking procedures must take place. In charge of this are the health officers of each team.
No water dispensers are allowed in the venue as each spiker must bring their own water canteen.
No one can take a shower in the venue. This means that a player must immediately leave the facility after training.
Finally, each training session must only have four to five players. The venue would then be sanitized before the next batch comes in.
The league is looking at May 8 as its start date.
