Gilas Pilipinas were able to utilize all 15 of its players in their 90-63 exhibition match against Jordan B in the 10th King Abdullah Cup, Wednesday evening at the Prince Hamzah Sport Hall in Jordan.
The game does not count in the standings as the Jordan Basketball Federation deemed that games against their B squad will not count.
Still, Gilas treated the contest like it was a game that mattered as they need all the games it can get as both the FIBA Asia Cup and the 30th Southeast Asian Games have been postponed to next year.
Dwight Ramos caught fire to start the game as he buried five triples in the first eight minutes of the contest to give Gilas an early 25-12 lead. He added two more threes in the second quarter to push his total to 21 points.
The 6-foot-4 guard also had six assists, five steals, and three rebounds in the game.
Jordan’s developmental team proved to be no match for Gilas would lead by as much as 31 points, 90-59, with 3:10 left.
Besides Ramos, Justine Baltazar also used the game for target shooting as he had 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, 3-of-4 from distance.
Jordan Heading added 11 points on three triples while Carl Tamayo produced a line of 10 rebounds and eight points.
All Gilas players played in the contest.
With the game not counting on the ledger, Gilas will still be 1-1 in the standings.
Ahmad Obeid paced Jordan’s developmental team with 14 points and six rebounds.
Gilas will face Tunisia on Friday at 12:00MN (Manila time).
