Liyab has let go of local Starcraft II star and Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Caviar “EnDerr” Acampado, the player revealed on Friday afternoon.
In a lengthy Facebook post, EnDerr said that his contract with the Globe-backed organization has ended last August. And the lack of movement in the Starcraft II scene prompted Liyab to not renew the multi-titled player.
“My contract (part-time pro) with Liyab ended last August as the organization has decided to focus their efforts in other game titles,” said the 28-year-old Zerg player.
“Given the lack of tournament support for Starcraft 2 and the reality of this pandemic, I respect their decision and I wish nothing but success for Liyab. I’m really thankful for the things I achieved while on the team,” he continued.
“The team was very supportive of my pro player career as a working student.”
According to EnDerr, he just graduated from college last May and is still looking for opportunity either in the esports scene or a new career as a game developer.
EnDerr last played in the DH SC2 Masters 2020 Winter: Oceania / Rest of Asia where he topped the rest of the competition capped off by a grand final win against Australia’s Sheldon “Seither” Barrow via a 4-1 decision.
It was the last tournament EnDerr competed in.
“I just graduated school last May and I am undecided whether I’ll continue as a full-time SC2 player or focus on a new career path as a game developer. Whatever the future holds, I’m actively looking for opportunities for the next step of my career,” EnDerr shared.
With his Liyab stint now at its end, EnDerr thanked the management and its players along with his Mineski family.
“To Liyab’s management team and to my co-players thank you for the laughs and I hope you keep the fire burning and sorry for the headaches I caused while I’m in the bootcamp LOLOL. To the whole Mineski family, thank you for the unconditional support, you guys will always have a special place in my heart,” EnDerr said.
“Thank you for all who supported me and the team throughout the years! GG’s.”
