Gilas Pilipinas will once again meet South Korea, this time in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
The Philippines is also grouped with New Zealand and India to form Group A.
Group B will be the group of death as it will have Australia, China, Japan, and Chinese-Taipei.
Composing Group C are Jordan, Lebanon, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia while Iran, Kazakhstan, Syria, and Bahrain form Group D.
The first round of the World Cup Qualifiers will be broken down into three windows which will take place on November 2021, February 2022, and June 2022.
The second round will take place on September 2022, November 2022, and February 2023.
The Philippines is already qualified for the World Cup but will still have to compete in the first and second round along with Japan.
The format will still be a home and away.
Indonesia will have to reach the quarterfinals of the Asia Cup to automatically qualify for the Worlds.
Unlike the other Qualifiers of the other continents, geographic distance was taken into account besides the FIBA World Rankings presented by Nike.
