Pacio-Saruta III to take place on ONE: Revolution

Joshua Pacio got his wish.

The young Team Lakay stalwart will put his ONE Strawweight World Championship on the line against Yosuke Saruta on Revolution which takes place on September 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Right now I think the number one contender is Yosuke Saruta. We’ve had two fights so far, with one victory each, so I feel there is some unfinished business there,” said the 25-year-old late last year.

“I’m looking forward to settling that in the Circle.”

Pacio first faced the 34-year-old Japanese fighter back on January 19, 2019 during Eternal Glory. Three months later, Pacio was able to get the win and the title back during Roots of Honor.ONE-Roots-of-Honor-joshua-pacio-def-saruta-2 Pacio-Saruta III to take place on ONE: Revolution Mixed Martial Arts News ONE Championship - philippine sports news

Since then, Pacio has defeated Rene Catalan and Alex Silva to raise his slate to 19-3. However, he last entered the circle back on January 31 of 2020.

On the other hand, Saruta had defeated Daichi Kitakata and Yoshitaka Naito to take the top contender slot. The fighter out of REDIPS (21-9-3) has a longer layoff than Pacio as he last fought back on September 10, 2020.

This is just the first of three title matches in the stacked card as Capitan Petchyindee Academy will put his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship on the line against Mehdi Zatout while ONE Lightweight king Christian Lee takes on Ok Rae Yoon in the main event.
