BREN Esports punch ticket to Valorant Masters Berlin

BRENLIN is real.

After being sent down to the lower bracket final, Bren Esports clawed its way back up to win the Valorant Champions Tour 2021: Southeast Asia Stage 3 Challengers and qualify for the Masters Berlin, Sunday evening.

Composed of former CS:GO veterans Kevin “Dispenser” Te, Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza, Jayveee “DubsteP” Paguiran, Riley “Witz” Go, and former Dota 2 pro Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco, BREN Esports made history by becoming the first Filipino team to qualify for a Valorant Masters all while bagging a total of $25,000 in the process.

“I’m just so happy that we finally… like the hard work paid off because I’ve been trying to chase this for my entire career so I’m so happy that we made it. I didn’t stop, I’m 28 years old and I’m still trying my best to do this thing for kids,” expressed an emotional DubsteP who is trying to fight back tears.

“We showed today that age is just a number and I’m so happy that my teammates are here to support me,” he added.

The Bernard Chong-owned squad had the chance to clinch the Masters slot yesterday but dropped their upper bracket finals matchup against Paper Rex via a 1-2 decision – surrendering the first seat in Berlin to the Singaporean squad.

Coming back with vengeance, the team first scored a dominant 2-0 sweep of Alter Ego in the semifinals to set up a rematch against Paper Rex in the grand finals of the SEA Challenger.

The win against the Indonesian squad made Bren Esports the last team to qualify in the Masters Berlin and complete the 16-team field.

Facing the squad that threw them down the lower bracket, Bren Esports exacted sweet vengeance against Paper Rex, coming out alive in two overtimes before sealing the Game Three win in Icebox to cap off their SEA campaign with a bang.

In Berlin, Bren Esports will join world champion Sentinels, along with powerhouses Gambit Esports, 100 Thieves, and Ascend, along with SuperMassive Blaze, G2 Esports, Team Envy, KRU Esports, Havan Liberty, Keyd Stars, Vision Strikers, F4Q, ZETA Division, Crazy Raccoon, and Paper Rex.

The Masters Berlin will raise its curtains on September 10 up until the 19th.
