Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera had some rough past encounters with Blacklist International.
In total, the 20-year-old roamer’s personal record against the Tier One-backed squad since he entered the league with NXP Solid in Season Six is – 1-6.
The last time he won a series against Blacklist International was on September 19, 2020 back in the regular season of Season Six in the form of a 2-1 victory.
Back then, Blacklist International had the likes of Arvie “Aqua” Calderon and Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol along with sixth man Archie “KILLER” Valencia and holdovers Dexter “DEX STAR” Alaba, Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap, and Mark “ESON” Gerardo.
So, winning against Blacklist International on Sunday night via a 2-0 sweep proved to be a breath of fresh air for ECHO’s star roamer.
“Para sa akin po, goal ko po kasi the last three seasons po hindi pa po ako nakakabawi sa kanila e,” said Yawi during the post-game interview.
“Kaya gustong gusto ko po silang talunin.”
Yawi posted a kill, four deaths, and eight assists playing Jawhead in ECHO’s tight 13-13 Game One win. He then followed it up with a 14-assist performance in the 20-6 Game Two victory as Kadita.
Indeed, it was a sweet feeling for Yawi, who finally ended his five-game losing streak against the back-to-back MPL Philippines defending champions.
“Ang sarap po sa feeling kasi natalo ko na po sila,” Yawi bared.
ECHO, who is now at the top of the Season Nine standings with 11 points through a 4-0 slate, will fight fellow undefeated squad RSG PH next on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
