Aleah Finnegan showed her pedigree in her debut for Team Pilipinas.
The 2019 gold medalist in the Pan American Games steered the women’s gymnastics gold in the team event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Saturday at the Quan Ngua Sports Complex.
Along with Chaira Andrew, Analla Manzano, Lucia Gutierrez, Kursten Lopez, and Ma. Cristina Loberanes, the team compiled a 184.500 to outclass the competition.
Finnegan, who is studying in LSU, got a 49.250 as well to finish with silver in the all-around event. Indonesia took gold.
Finnegan retired from elite gymnastics back in June 11, 2021.
The 19-year-old Filipino-American then switched federations early this year.
