Kiefer Ravena retires from SEAG competition

Kiefer Ravena’s Southeast Asian Games career has gone full circle.

But after six stints in the regional stint, the 28-year-old guard has decided to call it a career in competing in the meet.

“That’s it for me!

“Hanging these bad boys up for my last SEA Games,” read Ravena’s Instagram post. “Been my absolute pleasure playing for the Philippines.”

Ravena’s SEA Games career started when he was just 18 years old, winning gold in Jakarta back in 2011.

He then followed it up with championships in Naypyidaw, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and the Philippines.

Ravena though was originally not part of the team that will compete in Hanoi.

But after several pullouts from key players, the 6-foot guard who plays for NLEX in the PBA and Shiga in the B.League was called up once again.

In the 2021 Games, Ravena normed 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.

However, Gilas ended up with silver after bowing to Indonesia in the virtual gold match, 81-85.

Despite the bitter end to their campaign, Ravena tipped his hat to Indonesia.

“Well-deserved dub for Indonesia.”
