Javee Mocon was not part of Rain or Shine’s 14-man lineup.
Save for negotiations, the versatile 6-foot-3 forward has not appeared in the Elasto Painters’ practices nor its team-building last week in Tagaytay City.
Apparently, Tiebreaker Times has learned that the contract negotiations between Mocon’s camp and Rain or Shine had hit an impasse.
With the negotiations going nowhere, Rain or Shine has put Mocon on the trading block.
“Ino-offer na namin siya sa ibang teams at may nag-inquire na rin sa kanya,” said Rain or Shine consultant Caloy Garcia.
Mocon was the sixth overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.
During the Philippine Cup, Mocon averaged 12.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Meanwhile, in the import-laden conference, he normed 11.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.0 steals.
The Elasto Painters’ Philippine Cup lineup has Gian Mamuyac, Gabe Norwood, Mike Nieto, Anton Asistio, Shaun Ildefonso, Vince Tolentino, Andrei Caracut, Jewel Ponferrada, Mark Boboran, Jhonard Clarito, Santi Santillan, Rey Nambatac, Norbert Torres, and Beau Belga.
