When the dust settled, Creamline was the last team standing in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference.
And that means that the Cool Smashers will be the Philippines’ representative in the 2022 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Cup.
PVL president Ricky Palou confirmed right after the final of the Invitationals that the Rebisco-backed squad had accepted the federation’s invitation to fly the flag from August 21 to 29.
Creamline made quick work of KingWhale, 25-21, 25-19, 25-8, in the finals to claim its second consecutive championship — its fifth in seven finals appearances.
Creamline officials, including team manager Alan Acero, were able to talk to Philippine National Volleyball Federation president Tats Suzara during the final held at SM Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.
With this, Alyssa Valdez, Jia Morado, Jema Galanza, and Kyle Negrito are set for another tour of duty for the national team while Tots Carlos will make her debut.
Also part of Creamline are Ced Domingo, Risa Sato, Michele Gumabao, Jeanette Panaga, Lorie Bernardo, Pau Soriano, Kyla Atienza, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, Rizza Mandapat, and Rose Vargas.
Sherwin Meneses will assist Philippine National Women’s Volleyball Team head coach Edson Souza De Brito in the team’s preparation for the continental meet.
Also part of the pool are Akari’s Trisha Genesis and California Precision Sports’ Jelai Gajero.
Palou also opened the entire PVL to the PNVF for possible reinforcements.
The Philippines is grouped with South Korea, China, Iran, and Vietnam in the Asian Women’s Volleyball Cup.
