Bryan Sajonia led Far Eastern University to its third win in the 2022 Filoil Ecooil Preseason Cup’s Group B, taking a 90-79 win over University of Santo Tomas, Sunday in San Juan City.
Sajonia tallied a game-high 20 points with 7-of-5 clip from the field to go with five assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
Down by 56-58 the Tamaraws overcame a slow start in the third frame off a Sajonia triple to get back a 59-58 lead.
In the final quarter, Royce Alforque launched a two-point jumper to get back a double digit lead, 74-63, at the 7:59 mark. Then from there the Tamaraws employed a 14-6 run led by Sajonia, Ximone Sandagan, Rodel Grevera, and James Tempra to get an 88-69 advantage.
The Tamaraws evented their record to 3-3 while the Growling Tigers fell to 1-4.
FEU will go up against Jose Rizal University on Monday at 11 a.m., while UST will take on San Beda University also later that day at 3 p.m
