JB Borlongan struck near the death to help Dynamic Herb Cebu seal a 1-1 stalemate against defending champions United City in the 2022-23 Philippines Football League, Saturday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
The former University of the Philippines standout converted a free kick in the 88th minute after his teammate Mert Altinöz was brought down at the edge of the box by United City’s Amirbek Juraboev.
Borlongan’s goal leveled the contest after United City forward Mark Hartmann broke the deadlock with a header off a Simen Lyngbo cross in the 70th minute.
The result means that Dynamic Herb Cebu tallied its first point this season and it sits in 5th place in the standings. United City slides down to 2nd place with seven points after losing its 100 percent record this season.
United City will go up against the Azkals Development Team next Sunday at 7:00 PM with the venue to be confirmed.
On the other hand, Dynamic Herb Cebu will go up against Stallion Laguna next at 4:00 PM with the date and venue to be finalized.
