Renzio’s first career savage comes at right time for Omega

Renz “Renzio” Cadua made sure to step up when Omega Esports needed him the most.

Facing a star-studded ECHO squad in the first round of the MPL Philippines Season Nine playoffs, the 25-year-old offlaner out of Bagong Barrio, Caloocan was named the Most Valuable Player in the last two games of the 3-0 sweep.

Renzio also recorded his first career savage — the third this season after teammate Duane “Kelra” Pillas and ECHO’s Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno notched the feat in the regular season — to cap off the SMART-backed squad’s Game Two victory.

Then, the former Sunsparks standout halted ECHO’s turnaround in Game Three, securing a triple kill which put Omega Esports back in the driver’s seat.

Renzio, who played the marksman role early in his career, could not hide his joy after notching his first-ever Savage in his six-season career. After all, he achieved it despite playing a utility role as Masha.

“Yung feeling po sobrang saya siyempre kasi first time pong nangyari sa buong MPL [career] ko yun e. Lalo na offlane pa ako, [pero] naka-savage ako,” said Renzio during the post-match press conference.

The two-time MPL PH champion also said that the feat will be a huge confidence booster for moving forward.

Omega Esports will take on the second-seeded TNC next in the second round.

“Na-boost ako no’n tapos feeling ko kaya ko nang tapatan lahat ng offlane ngayon kasi lahat ng offlane ngayon malalakas din e.”
