VCT APAC: Unorthodox picks bites Team Secret in loss to BLEED

Uncommon agent picks for Team Secret in their  Valorant Champions Tour Asia-Pacific Stage 2: Challengers Playoffs debut.

Team Secret fell into the hands of BLEED, 0-2, on Thursday evening.

The unusual team composition has come to haunt Team Secret in Game Two at Icebox, losing via a 13-11 tight scoreline.

Secret opted for Omen and Breach instead of the traditional Viper and Sova who were the usual picks at the map.

The absence of the Viper wall and Sova darts were felt early as they trailed 8-4 to end the opening half.

Second half is when the Filipinos got their proper footing, getting five straight rounds to get the lead, 9-8.

However, in round 18, TS got a little bit greedy, overextending out of the B site while also losing Fade’s ultimate in the process.

BLEED punished them to even the score at nine while only using pistols. They followed it with a couple more round wins to bring back their lead to two.

Team Secret was able to snatch the following two rounds to get the tie at 11 all, led by Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera’s Fade.

The Singaporeans took the following two rounds, denying Secret’s hopes to force overtime.

Riley “Witz” Go (Chamber) and Jremy led Team Secret with 23 and 21 kills apiece.

Jim “Borkum” Tibreza, who picked Omen, struggled with only eight kills.

For BLEED, Lee Jun Hao “LEXY” Xavier (Sage) had himself a game with 26 kills and 10 assists.

The Swedes Max “maxie” Lƶnstƶrm (Viper) and Jacob “pyth” MourujƤrvi (Killjoy) both had 20 markers.

Now, all three Philippine representatives are on the brink of elimination in the lower bracket.
