All but one of Creamline’s hitters contributed to the team’s three-set whipping of BaliPure on Monday night.
And that’s exactly how Jia De Guzman wanted to run things to keep the team unpredictable heading into the latter stage of the 2022 Premier Volleyball League.
“It’s something na pina-practice talaga namin ni Kyle [Negrito] na kapag ka training we want everyone to get involved in the play para less predictable rin,” said the reigning Best Setter, who finished with 14 excellent sets in the match.
De Guzman also credited the team’s superb passing against the Water Defenders which helped her distribute the ball to the team’s spikers. Moreover, she’s just happy to see everyone step up and contribute with a total of 10 players scoring in the victory.
“We’re happy that everyone got to deliver but we also have to credit also yung passing ng team, yung defense ng team kasi without it hindi rin kami makakaset nang maayos,” said De Guzman.
“That’s why conscious effort din yung coaches namin to fill everyone in para lahat kami ready to play anytime hanggang matapos yung tournament,” she added.
Always looking to improve, De Guzman said that the team is looking to polish some basic aspects as they try to limit their errors moving forward.
“Ganun ulit. We’re going to train tomorrow. Mag sa-scout kami. Babalik kami sa basics namin,” she said.
“Ayun naman parati yung nireremind samin ng coaches na it’s more of our small errors na kailangan namin ma-control. Other than that, we’re okay.”
