Converge will not have the entire Alaska team when it makes its debut in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup. And it’s because of something that is beyond their control.
According to multiple team insiders, Abu Tratter has already informed Converge’s brass that he won’t sign with the team as he tests the overseas market.
In fact, the 6-foot-5 big man out of La Salle has already told the team that he is eyeing being an Asian quota player in the B.League
The 29-year-old, who was drafted as the seventh overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft, is eligible to be an Asian import in Japan’s premier league as he was born in Siniloan, Laguna.
During the Governors’ Cup, Tratter averaged 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds.
The B.League’s signing period begins on May 16.
Besides Tratter, Maverick Ahanmisi has also told the team that he will not be signing with the team as well.

Ahanmisi is part of the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft class, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The 6-foot-2 guard, who normed 8.2 points in the Govs’ Cup, is not eligible to be an Asian import in Japan.
Los Angeles, California native Ahanmisi is categorized as a naturalized player by FIBA so unless the B.League amends its rules, he can only play as a world import in Japan.
Currently, only Jeron Teng, Ben Adamos, and Taylor Browne are under contract with Converge.
