After an embarrassing debut loss, Fnatic vented its ire on Boom Esports through a 2-1 victory to score its first win in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season Two-Southeast Asia upper division, Wednesday evening.
Filipino carry Polo “Raven” Fausto’s Medusa stood on top in Game Three, finishing the series-clincher with seven kills and five assists against one death along with a total net worth of 31,065.
Kam “Moon” Boon Seng backstopped his carry with seven kills, four deaths, and eight assists playing Riki while Filipino support Djardel “DJ” Mampusti’s Abaddon recorded a team-high 12 assists along with three deaths in the 20-18 Game Three win.
For the Indonesians, it was Randy “Dreamocel” Sapoetra’s Morphling who took the lead with 10 kills and an assist against three deaths.
Dreamocel tried to carry the match for Boom Esports, but the well-farmed Medusa of Raven proved to be too much to overcome.
Rafli “Mikoto” Rahman’s Sandking finished with four kills, six deaths, and a game-high 14 assists while Brizio “Hyde” Putra’s Mirana had two kills and 13 assists against two deaths in the loss.
Game Three lasted for 38 minutes and four seconds.
Fnatic forged a three-way tie for the fourth spot with fellow Singapore Major squads OB Esports x Neon and T1 with identical 1-1 records.
Mikoto’s Puck in the opening game helped Boom Esports draw first blood in the series, but the Gyrocopter in the hands of Raven was all Fnatic needed to send the series to a winner-take-all Game Three.
Fnatic will next face Omega Esports on May 5 while Boom Esports will go up against T1 on April 29.
