Omega’s Jules holds on to pole position in The Nationals Tekken

Smart Omega’s Juliano “Jules” Lazano held on to pole position to open the group stage of The Nationals Season 3 Tekken 7 conference, Sunday evening.

Jules, who upped his slate to 19 wins and 10 losses and now has amassed 25 points, started off the day with a 2-0 sweep through his Leroy over teammate Mark “MachineHead” Eking’s Zafina. He then used Feng and Claudio in a 2-0 loss to STI’s Michael “Hapon” Magbanua’s signature Eddy.

Meanwhile, Bren Epro star “Maru” Sy came a point away from tying Jules at the top spot. He currently has 24 points through a 21-11 standing.

Maru suffered an opening day reverse sweep loss to Cignal’s Ralph “Vermillion” Cueva’s Zafina, before Maru’s Lidia took the life out of Happy Feet’s Jeffrey “Coffee_Prinz!” Gonzales’ Leroy through a 2-1 victory.

After a slow performance in the play-ins, Coffee_Prinz (17-4) crawled up to the third spot – tied with MachineHead (16-4) and Hapon (16-4) with 20 points each.

The solo fourth spot went to Vermillion with 18 points through a 15-15 record while defending champion Alexandre “AK” Laverez (15-15) and Jassen “JS5N” Capuyan (14-14) of Playbook and Daniel “Kunicat” De Leon (14-13) of Cignal are at a three-way tie at the fifth spot with 17 points each – a point behind Vermillion.

Happy Feet’s Jim “Don Argus” Casimiro – who made a last-ditch attempt to salvage his The Nationals campaign back in the play-ins – is at the last place with 12 points and a 10-18 record.
