UST to parade 6-3 American Willie Wilson in D-League

University of Santo Tomas will have a foreign student-athlete for the upcoming PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.

Six-foot-three American student-athlete Willie Wilson will be making his debut for the Growling Tigers after committing to the school last June 13.

“I’ll be attending the University of Santo Tomas,” read Wilson’s post. “I appreciate all my family members, friends, coaches, mentors, and everybody that helped and pushed me and believed in me from the beginning.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to play overseas and now that dream has come true. It’s only up from here.”

Unlike the majority of foreign student-athletes, Wilson, 18, is a different cat as he plays the guard position.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 190 pounds, Wilson relies on athleticism and playmaking.

During his senior year at Minneapolis North High School, Wilson averaged 16.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. He is a teammate of another UST commit in Gani Stevens.

According to 24/7 Sports, Wilson received offers from Hampton and Florida back in 2020.

Wilson will be eligible for Season 86 as he needs to undergo residency.

He has yet to join the team but is expected to join the Builders Warehouse-backed squad.UAAP-82-Jrs-NSNU-vs.-DLSZ-Baclaan-3928-1 UST to parade 6-3 American Willie Wilson in D-League Basketball News PBA D-League UAAP UST - philippine sports news
