Kuku parts way with Omega, to focus on T1

Smart Omega Esports and Carlo “Kuku” Palad have mutually agreed to part ways, the organization announced Saturday.

“For being a part of Omega Esports for a brief period, we’d like to give our The Nationals coach, Carlo ‘Kuku’ Palad, a farewell gift,” read the team’s statement as Omega COO Patrick Cruz gave Palad a present.

“Thank you for being with us! It was fun having you and seeing you strut the Omega Esports blue and green colors! Good luck to you at the DPC and see you around, coach.”

Kuku signed on as Omega Dota 2 head coach last November 6.

Omega then loaded up Kuku’s team by tapping ex-Adroit members Boomy, MAC, CML, Tino, and Nikko.

However, Korean squad T1 made Kuku an offer he can’t refuse last January 18.

Kuku’s stint with Omega only last for 73 days.

Kuku will now be focusing on his Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1-Southeast Asia Upper Division campaign.

T1 dropped its opening campaign against Fnatic and Kuku’s former teammate in TNC and Geek Fam Polo “Raven” Fausto.

The South Korea-based organization is currently in the seventh spot of the upper division with a 0-1 card.

On the other hand, Omega Esports forged a three-way tie for the pole position with Army Geniuses and Cignal Ultra in the lower division. All three squads boast a clean 2-0 record.
