Lilgun shut down Denz “Abat” Anedez to hand Cignal Ultra its first loss through a 2-1 outing in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1 – Southeast Asia Lower Division, Thursday evening.
The Cignal star carry was held to just six kills, five deaths, and five assists playing Riki in the Warriors’ 30-15 Game Three loss. Meanwhile, The International veteran James “Jamesy” John was the lone bright spot for Cignal with nine kills and four assists against five deaths.
The troika of Erice “Erice” Guerra (Phoenix), Van “Van” Manalaysay (Tide Hunter), and Jomari “Grimz” Anis (Undying) did not register a kill in the 40:47-minute match.
With the loss, Cignal slid to the second spot with a 3-1 record of the lower division. It surrendered the top seat to fellow Filipino squad Smart Omega Esports who currently boasts an immaculate 4-0 record.
Sanctity- spearheaded Lilgun’s Game Three assault of Cignal with 15 kills and 12 assists using Timbersaw. Ace12, meanwhile, added four kills and 12 assists against three deaths using Keeper of the Light.
Lilgun opened the series with a 41-21 stomp through Hishgee’s 12-4-17 performance with his Tiny. Sanctity- (Templar Assassin) chipped in nine kills and 18 assists, while x123 (Lone Druid) added nine kills and 11 assists.
Abat only had seven kills, seven deaths, and seven assists in the 37:57-minute match. On the other hand, Jamesy’s Mars was limited to just three kills, nine deaths, and 11 assists.
The four-time The Nationals champion bounced back in Game Two, with Abat putting up 16 kills and 12 assists with just one death playing Morphling. Jamesy (Puck) added 10 kills and 13 assists against three deaths. Erice (Phoenix), meanwhile, recorded a game-high 26 assists to help keep Cignal in the series.
Cignal Ultra looks to get back on the winning column against the Yangon Galacticos on February 10, Wednesday.
