Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer’s Ember Spirit led Neon Esports’ Game Three assault to hand Execration its third consecutive loss, 2-1, in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1 – Southeast Asia Upper Division, Saturday.
Neon Esports extended their winning streak to four games and is now leading the entire upper division with an immaculate 4-0 record.
The 19-year-old midlaner registered 14 kills and 13 deaths without a death in Neon’s 35-6 stomp of Execration. Yopaj averaged 606 gold per minute in the 22:30-minute match, tallying a total of 13,735 net worth.
Gabriel “skem” Ong backstopped his middle laner by recording a game-high 23 assists to go along with seven kills and one death using Tusk. Prieme Ejay “PlayHard” Banquil (Pangolier) put up four kills, two deaths, and 21 assists while carry John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas (Troll Warlord) added six kills and 10 assists against one death.
Neon Esports limited Yuri Dave “Yowe” Pacaña (Wraith King) to just a kill, seven deaths, and an assist. Meanwhile, Argle “Ken” Llesis (Void Spirit) was held to just a kill, three deaths, and two assists.
The top-ranked squad in the upper division opened up the series in dominant fashion, riding Yopaj’s 8-1-7 line with his Death Prophet to take the 23-6 Game One victory. Execration, however, did not go down without a fight.
With Ken leading the charge in Game Two, Execration managed to even up the series against the hot Neon Esports squad. He finished with a monster performance using Storm Spirit, recording 23 kills and 11 assists against three deaths. Yowe added nine kills and 22 assists against five deaths with his Bristleback.
Meanwhile, Yopaj had a decent outing in Game Two with seven kills, six deaths, and eight assists using Queen of Pain, but Natsumi- (Troll Warlord) failed to deliver the goods this time around which allowed Execration to force a winner-take-all Game Three.
Execration, who scored an upset victory over TNC Predator in their season opener, dropped the next three games which put them at the bottom of the standings with a 1-3 record – tied with 496 Gaming.
Neon Esports will look to extend their winning streak on February 11, Thursday against fellow all-Filipino squad Vice Esports while Execration will try to get back on the win column against the Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Karl “Karl” Baldovino combo of T1 on Saturday, February 13.
