PGL airs Whitemon’s singing NSFW Tagalog song during DPC broadcast

PGL has come under fire after airing a video of T1 hard support Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon singing the Tagalog version of explicit song Ignition, Thursday.

PGL is the organizer behind the Dota Pro Circuit: Southeast Asia upper division.

In an innocent attempt to provide entertainment to the fans, host Neal “Typhoon” Khandheria showed the viewers a clip of Whitemon singing an explicit parody version of R.Kelly’s song while at his tournament station waiting for the next match.

Obviously, unlike Whitemon, the organizers had no knowledge of the song’s meaning when they aired the video after Boom Esports’ Game One victory over T1.

Filipino Carlo “Kuku” Palad had thought Whitemon the song as a joke.

If there’s one thing certain in all these, it’s that the 20-year-old Whitemon did not expect the candid moment to be aired live in front of thousands of viewers.

Despite the mishap, Whitemon certainly drew tons of laughter from Filipino fans – one they might really need right now especially at a trying time like this.

PGL and Valve have yet to issue a statement regarding the issue, but the organizers have since removed that part from the livestreams on Twitch, Youtube, and Facebook.
