MPL-Philippines rising star Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico has come under fire after taking shots at Execration’s expense following Work Auster Force’s 2-1 victory over the said squad last Sunday.
The 17-year-old offlaner published a couple of harmless posts on his Facebook account moments after the victory that did not sit well with some of his fellow MPL players and the fans.
“Nice game Exe, hindi bagay sa inyo [yung] TP [teleport] hehe,” 3MarTzy said. “Part of the plan,” he added in another post.
Work Auster Force co-owner Vincent Fabro and analyst Dan “Leo” Cubangay have since defended 3MarTzy in a Facebook post and a Facebook live, respectively.
“Ang daming nagagalit kay Frediemar Serafico – 3Martzy kasi mayabang daw tyaka bago pa lang daw sa MPL? E ‘di talunin niyo kasi para di makapag yabang, natural ta-trashtalk yan kasi nananalo,” said Fabro.
“Tatagal niyo na sa MPL, yung iba wala pa sa MPL o kaya laos na MPL player na tapos pati trashtalk ng bata dinadamdam niyo, talunin niyo na lang para di maka trashtalk di ba? Kung kaya niyo lang naman. Pag tumrashtalk tuwang tuwa pero pag na-trashtalk iiyak.”
Fabro was already no stranger to incidents like this, as he previously called Blacklist International coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza a ‘laos/butaw’ player in an older post after the latter poked fun at Work Auster Force’s loss against his squad.
While the co-owner decided to handle the situation unprofessionally, Leo – who also serves as a shoutcaster for the MPL – defended his player through a reasonable discussion on his Facebook livestream while also giving his viewers his point of view of the situation.
“My question, what did my boy Frediemar say? Ano yung personal doon sa sinabi ni Emar? ‘Cause as far as I’m concerned, karamihan if not all the things that my players are talking about are in-game. Sabihin nating medyo pilyo ang mga players natin and ang pinaka pilyo or pinakamakulit sa kanilang lahat ay si Emar,” said the M2 World Championship shoutcaster.
“What did my boy say that you would say is personal? So let’s just put it at that because I’d like to think that everything that they do or kung ano ‘man ang napag usapan nila ay in-game lang or tungkol sa laro. Because that’s what they’re good at, yun yung gusto nila e kasi alam nilang malakas sila [at] alam nilang magaling sila so ‘pag nananalo sila, they enjoy that. They’re in the moment, talagang ayon.”
The radio DJ-turned-esports shoutcaster also bared that his players are just enjoying the moment especially since this is their first time playing in the country’s premier Mobile Legends league.
Moreover, Leo vowed to address the situation once his players crossed the line or let it affect their respective games.
“As soon as maging bastos yung bata, I will tell him. Ako mismo kakausap.
“So nandoon naman si Lift, si coach Lift, kakausapin niya sila. Pero ‘pag hindi pa rin kaya ni Lift, kaming dalawa na. The Leo and Lift connection kakausapin yung mga bata ‘pag maingay, alright?” said Leo.
Work Auster Force is on the verge of clinching a seat in the upper bracket playoffs as they currently stand at the number two spot in Group A with 18 points through a 6-4 win-loss standing.
The rookies will open the league’s sixth week, facing Group A rival ONIC PH on Friday at 6:00 pm.
