Ray Parks is starting to find his groove while Dwight Ramos is still trying to get a grasp of the B.League game.
Parks powered Nagoya to its third straight win, leading their 99-74 rout of Toyama in the 2021-22 B.League Season, Sunday at Toyama City Gymnasium.
Parks — a three-time ASEAN Basketball League MVP — played his best game so far in a Diamond Dolphins uniform, finishing with a game-high 17 points with seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
In his first start of the season, Ramos had nine points on 4-of-12 shooting from the field with four rebounds and three assists against four turnovers.
Up by just five points, 43-38, during halftime, the Diamond Dolphins went on a huge third quarter spurt to blow the game wide open. A Tatsuya Ito bucket gave Nagoya a 67-46 lead.
Nagoya’s lead would balloon to as high as 30 points, 95-65.
Scott Eatherton tallied 15 points and seven rebounds while Coty Clarke tallied 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Takumi Saito glued things together for Nagoya with 12 points and eight assists.
This is the Diamond Dolphins’ second straight win to rise to an even 3-3 while dropping the Grouses to 0-6.
Joshua Smith and Julian Mavunga were the sole double-digit scorers for the Grouses with the former having 13 points and six rebounds while the latter finishing with 11 points, seven assists, and four rebounds.
It will be a Week Four for Parks and Nagoya as they face Kiefer Ravena and Shiga next weekend at Park Arena Komaki.
Ramos and Toyama, on the other hand, will host powerhouse team Ryukyu next week as well at Toyama Seibutai Sports Center.
