Mau glad Tolenada is starting to find groove in F2 Logistics

Just three games in, Iris Tolenada is already easing her way into F2 Logistics’ system.

On Monday evening, the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference Best Setter showed that she belonged in the Cargo Movers’ roster, putting up 22 excellent sets to go along with four points in F2 Logistics’ 25-16, 25-23, 25-14 win over Petro Gazz.

Cargo Movers head coach Ramil De Jesus and main hitter Kalei Mau only have nice words for the decorated playmaker.

According to De Jesus, Tolenada had been showing a willingness to immerse herself in F2 Logistics’ system as soon as she joined the squad.

“Alam mo naman yung routines nila sa US magkaiba sa Asia so kailangan mo lang i-adjust,” said De Jesus about Tolenada, who is a product of San Francisco State University.

“Ang maganda kay Iris, coachable siya and willing siya mag adjust para sa team kung anong merong chemistry na ang F2 so yun ang maganda.”

Meanwhile, Mau, who finished with 21 points off 18 attacks, deflected her offensive showing to the former Motolite playmaker.

The National team hitter also revealed that she and Tolenada have been building their chemistry all throughout their bubble training.

“I think we did pretty good,” said Mau. “I can’t say that I did a good job, it was my teammates. Iris and I have been working really hard on our connection in the bubble training so I’m really, really proud of her.

“Without her, I couldn’t have made all of those points and also my teammates around me getting balls up and playing scrappy defense. I’m really proud of everyone.”

The win put F2 Logistics at the top of the standings with nine points through a clean 3-0 win-loss slate.

Up next for the Cargo Movers is the Tuguegarao Perlas Spikers tomorrow at 4:00 PM.
