After losing two key players to Nueva Ecija, Jumbo Plastic Basilan signed two key free agents to replace them.
Pampanga’s Encho Serrano and Zamboanga Sibugay’s Jaymar Gimpayan are tasked to fill the shoes left by Chris Bitoon and Michael Mabulac come the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Invitational Tournament.
Serrano is currently playing for Pampanga in the Chooks-to-Go National Basketball League, averaging 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.
Gimpayan, on the other hand, was the MVP in the Visayas Leg of the Chooks-to-Go VisMin Super Cup. He averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
Other newcomers to Basilan are Jhong Bondoc, Lester Reyes, and Patrick Tan.
Returning to the team that ruled both VisMin and Filbasket are Anthony Bringas, Jessie Collado, Hesed Gabo, Michael Juico, Philip Manalang, Harold Ng, Stephen Siruma, Jay-R Taganas, and Jonathan Uyloan.
Basilan is slotted in Pool B for the tournament that is set from December 11-23 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with Laguna, Bicol, Marikina, and Makati.
