Bong Ravena hopes Simon Enciso can sustain intensity in Game Five

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY — Simon Enciso proved in the most crucial of times why he is an integral piece for TNT’s championship aspirations.

Tropang Giga head coach Bong Ravena lauded Enciso his impact on their 102-101 conquest of Phoenix Super LPG in Game Four of their 2020 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals war, Wednesday night.

The 5-foot-11 guard was among those providing the offense, nailing four three-pointers en route to 14 points. He also collected three assists and a rebound in the 29 minutes and 32 seconds he played off the bench.

Enciso also virtually sealed the season-saving victory, calmly sinking both of his shots from the charity stripe with five-tenths of a second remaining to widen their lead to four, 102-98.

It was yet another solid performance for the five-year pro after his efforts went down the drain back in Game Three. It was his best scoring outing with 16 points on five triples but the Tropa lost.

“Shout-out also to Simon,” Ravena said post-game.

But more than the offense, the seasoned mentor is also proud of Enciso’s defensive prowess against a Phoenix backcourt led by that features Matthew Wright, RJ Jazul, and RR Garcia.

“Hindi lang opensa ang nabibigay ni Simon sa amin. Especially on defense also. He can really contain his man,” Ravena praised.

“And he can get a lot of outside shots. Swerte kami sa kanila.”

The series now heads into a deciding Game Five on Friday, Nov. 27, with the Finals ticket on the line. And Ravena hopes that Enciso will show up once again in the all-important game.

“Hopefully he can bring that game on Game Five.”
