SMART CLARK GIGA CITY — There will be no Most Valuable Player award in the PBA Bubble.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said that the league’s board of governors have all agreed not to hand out the said award during their meeting Thursday. Instead, a Best Player of the Conference will be named.
“Napagkasunduan ng lahat ng board pati kami, BPC [ang ibibigay],” he told Tiebreaker Times hours after the meeting.
The awarding system for this season has been tweaked, since only one conference has taken place due to the circumstances.
There will be a Most Outstanding Rookie instead of Rookie of the Year, and it could be a Special Team for the usual Mythical Team selection.
The Sportsmanship Award and the Most Improved Player honors, however, have been retained, according to Marcial.
