Thailand to have just 10 players for FIBA Asia Manama bubble

Thailand will not be forfeiting its games in the second window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers this week.

Instead, it will enter Manama, Bahrain with just 10 men.

Headlining the squad are Hi-Tech Bangkok players Chanathip Jakrawan, Nakorn Jaisanuk, Nattakarn Muangboon, Wattana Suthisin, Chatpol Chuengyampin, Bandit Lakhan, Sukhdave Ghogar, and Montien Wongsawangtham.

Center Jakrawan was the MVP of the recently-concluded Thailand Basketball Open while Muangboon was the best point guard.

Completing the squad are best small forward Anucha Langsui and Anasawee Klaewnarong of Thailand General Equipment.

Calling the shots is beloved Thai head coach “Sax” Manid Niyomyindee.

The team left Suvarnabhumi Airport Monday and will arrive at Bahrain International Airport late evening.

Thailand takes on Gilas on November 27 and 30 and Indonesia on the 28th.

During the first window, the Thais fell to South Korea 86-93.
