SMART CLARK GIGA CITY – Matthew Wright came up big in the endgame to tow Phoenix Super LPG past TNT, 92-89, to take a 2-1 lead in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup race-to-three semifinal series Sunday at AUF Sports and Cultural Center.
With the Fuel Masters clinging to a one-point lead, the Fil-Canadian gunner drilled a jumper from the perimeter with 22.5 seconds left to play to give his side more breathing room, and missed chances by their foes sealed the win.
Wright, still nursing an injured ankle, played without restrictions this time around as he logged in over 33 minutes and finished with 25 points on a 52-percent clip on top of three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
