After a tedious two weeks, Dwight Ramos has finally stepped foot into the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
The 22-year-old arrived in the country last January 12 but had to undergo a mandatory quarantine before he could leave for the Calambubble.
Ramos, who stands at 6-foot-6, was an integral member of the national team all throughout the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. The Ateneo Blue Eagle has been averaging 12.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 steals in three games played.
This means that the only player Gilas is waiting for is Kai Sotto.
The first batch pool players arrived last January 10 and consisted of Kiefer Ravena, Isaac Go, Matt Nieto, Mike Nieto, Rey Suerte, Javi Gomez de Liaño, Dave Ildefonso, Justine Baltazar, Calvin Oftana, William Navarro, Kemark Carnio, and naturalized player candidate Angelo Kouame.
CJ Perez and Justin Chua entered the bubble last January 15. Juan Gomez de Liaño, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, and Raul Soyud then arrived on the 22nd.
Gilas take on South Korea on February 18, Indonesia on the 20th, and Korea again on the 22nd in Clark.
