After successful surgery, Bulanadi set to make big decision: Gilas Cadets or Alaska

Gilas Cadet Allyn Bulanadi had his own battle 49.2-kilometers away from Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna at St. Lukes BGC.

While the rest of his teammates in the national team have been training long and hard for the upcoming Clark window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, the 23-year-old Davao native went under the knife to repair his right shoulder.

Back in the build-up to the Manama window of the Qualifiers last November, Bulanadi suffered a dislocated shoulder that forced him to sit out the two games against Thailand and the upcoming window that will see the nationals face South Korea and Indonesia.

“Sa wakas, nakakahinga na ng maluwag at nakuhanan na din ng tinik at konting takot,” the 6-foot-2 sniper shared to Tiebreaker Times.

Performing the surgery were Dr. Randy Molo and Dr. Kester Lim.

But as he recovers from this surgery, the product of San Sebastian will also have to think long and hard on the next step in his basketball journey.

Bulanadi’s one-year contract with Gilas is about to expire. He can either renew with the program or join his mother team Alaska in the PBA.

“Hindi ko pa alam sa totoo lang, isinasa-Diyos ko na rin kung ano plano niya para sa akin.

“Focus muna din sa recovery, therapy at exercises. Mahirap man pero sanay naman tayo mag tiis,” he shared.
