SMART Omega blasts Impunity, advances to M2 upper bracket

Smart Omega Esports barged into the upper bracket of the M2 World Championships following a 2-0 sweep of Impunity KH at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore, Monday evening.

Omega swept the entire Group B for a 2-0 standing.

Heath once again made his presence felt inside the enemy team’s jungle – imitating his act in Omega’s 2-0 victory over Todak earlier in the day.

The MPL-Philippines veteran playmaker was named MVP in Game One. He finished with a kill, a death, and five assists, all while continuously hounding Oppi (Bruno) and BOOM (Tigreal) in the jungle throughout the match.

It was total domination for Omega in the opener, with Hadjizy (Yi Sun Shin) sealing the match with a maniac. He ended the opener with a clean 7-0-3 kill-death-assist tally.

YellyHaze (Selena) added three kills, a death, and six assists. The well-farmed Wanwan of KurTzy had two kills and eight assists with no deaths.

On the other hand, Oppi was held to just a kill, two deaths, and two assists.

Omega, who had 13 kills in the match, ended Game One in just 10 minutes and 55 seconds. They also limited the Cambodians to just three kills.

The MPL-Philippines second placer played even more aggressively in Game Two, with Kenji’s Uranus and KurTzy’s Lapu Lapu leading the charge.

KurTzy scored five of his seven kills in the first six minutes of the match, while Kenji consistently cut lanes inside Impunity KH’s camp.

KurTzy nabbed the MVP award in Game Two with a 7-0-2 stat line. Kenji, meanwhile, had three kills, a death, and six assists.

Oppi, who moved to the gold lane in Game Two, had three kills and seven deaths. Rookie, who assumed the jungler role from Oppi, was held to three deaths and two assists.

Omega will face the winner of Group D on January 22.
