Ra activated as Korea to bring just 12 players to Clark window

Despite a killer stretch in the upcoming Clark window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, Korea will only bring just 12 players to the country.

Headlining the squad is Ricardo Ratliffe, now known as Ra Gun-ah.

The 6-foot-8 naturalized Korean, who also played as an import for Star in 2016 and 2017, did not play in the February window of the Qualifiers. He last represented Korea in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Helping him in the frontline are 6-foot-10 Kim Jongkyu, 6-foot-8 Kang Sangjae, 6-foot-7 Lee Seunghyun, and NBA Global Academy product Yeo Junseok, who stands at 6-foot-8.

Completing the Korean team are Jeon Junbeom, An Youngjun, Lee Kwanhee, Byeon Junhyeong, Kim Nakhyeon, Heo Hoon, and Kim Sirae.

Lee Kwanhee was a former import for Phoenix.

The head coach of the Koreans is Kim Sangshik.

It seems like Korea will stick with just 12 players even if it will play four games in six days.

Korea opens its campaign against the Philippines on February 18 before taking on Indonesia on the 19th and Thailand on the 20th. After a one-day break, Korea faces Gilas anew.

Despite a 2-0 record in Group A, Korea sits at last place after being deducted two points because of its non-participation in the Manama window of the Qualifiers last November. The Korean Basketball Association was also slapped with a P8.6-million fine by FIBA.
