Blacklist International’s signature Ultimate Bonding Strategy went beyond the Land of Dawn on Sunday night.
The recently-crowned world champions – also the number one team in assists during the meet with a whopping total of 909 – made the most crucial dime moments right after the grand finals.
Speaking moments right after winning the M3, Blacklist International head coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza revealed that the team is donating a portion of their winnings to the Filipinos who were greatly affected by Typhoon Odette.
The back-to-back MPL Philippines champion took out compatriot ONIC Philippines via a lopsided 4-0 result in the grand finals at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on Sunday night.
With the monumental win, Blacklist International is set to bring home a grand total of US$300,000 (P15,000,000).
“We really want to celebrate especially this holiday, but we are also thinking of our fellow countrymen who were victims of the typhoon so as a help to them, our portion of our prize will be donated to them,” shared BON CHAN after the awarding.
As of yesterday, almost 800,000 families were affected by the typhoon with Filipinos from the southern and central parts of the Philippines taking the biggest hit.
The death toll is already near the 100-mark while most of the victims who survived were left without a home to celebrate the holidays.
“It’s from Tier One and Blacklist International. We want to celebrate our holidays by giving smiles to the faces of our fellow countrymen,” he added.
Blacklist International, who went down to the lower bracket after losing its first upper bracket assignment against BloodThirstyKings, fought tooth and nail just to get to the finals.
The Filipinos first took out reigning MPL Indonesia champion ONIC Esports before dominating Brazil reps Vivo Keyd in the third round.
Blacklist International then dispatched another Indonesian powerhouse RRQ Hoshi, before taking out EVOS SG in lower bracket semis.
The team then finally got its revenge victory over the same team that sent them down the lower bracket — earning them the last grand finals slot and the chance to face a familiar foe in ONIC PH.
Blacklist International went on to win the entire thing and become the second Filipino team to win the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang world meet.
