Cameron Forte will be assessed on Monday due to a knee injury.
NorthPort team manager Bonnie Tan disclosed that the American forward is experiencing posterior knee pain. He sustained the injury during the Batang Pier’s 2021-22 PBA Governors’ Cup meeting with NLEX last Friday.
“He will be evaluated tomorrow,” he told Tiebreaker Times.
Given his pending trip to the doctor, the team no longer fielded the 28-year-old in their clash with San Miguel, Sunday. He was in full uniform, but got reduced to a spectator as he watched his side play with an all-local lineup.
NorthPort managed without him but ultimately fell, 88-91.
Forte has been averaging 17.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in the two games he has played so far for the Batang Pier. However, he has yet to taste a win in the PBA. Their winless skid extended to three after that loss to the Beermen.
It remains unknown if the injury will affect his future with the team.
NorthPort, though. will have some time to assess matters. Its next match will still be on Friday, December 17, against Justin Brownlee and defending champions Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
