Yopaj gets back at OB.Neon, lifts BOOM to first win in DPC

Recently-promoted BOOM Esports opened its Dota Pro Circuit Southeast Asia 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 campaign with a dominant 2-0 win over OB.Neon, Friday.

Facing his former team, Erin “Yopaj” Ferrer went all out with his Ember Spirit in Game One, putting up 1 game-high 14 kills laced with 10 assists in two deaths in the lopsided 37-12 victory which lasted for just 26 minutes and seven seconds.

Boom Esports’ cores took an early lead in the game-winning all three lanes all thanks to the timely rotations coming from supports Gabriel “Skem” Ong (Grimstroke) and Timothy “Tims” Randrup (Weaver).

Roi “Enryu” Ladines’ Mars was the lone bright spot in the Game One loss with four kills, five deaths, and four assists for OB.Neon.

Come Game Two, Yopaj picked up right where he left off, tearing OB.Neon this time with his Templar Assassin. He finished with 12 kills, three deaths, and 11 assists in the sweep-clinching victory.

Boom Esports (1-0) forced an early tie with Motivate.Trust Gaming (1-0) and T1 (1-0) at the number one spot while OB.Neon joined fellow Filipino squads Execration and TNC Predator down the standings with identical 0-1 records.

Meanwhile, Polaris Esports picked up its first win in Division 2 via a 2-1 outing against the Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte-led Talon Esports.

The team bannered by 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalists is currently at the second spot with a 1-0 record in the Lower Division while the newly-formed Talon Esports, along with InterActive Philippines who suffered a 0-2 loss to Lilgun, slid to the last spot with identical 0-1 cards.
