Slaughter, who signed a one-year extension with Ginebra on February last year before being traded to Northport a year later, has become a restricted free agent.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, the 33-year-old big man out of Cleveland, Ohio is pondering on whether to remain with the Philippine Basketball Association or test the overseas market.
The 7-foot-1 big man though will still be a restricted free agent as he was drafted in 2013.
Though eligible to sign as a local in either the B.League or the Korean Basketball League, the Japanese league has already closed its signing window last January 31. The KBL, meanwhile, is still fixing its Asian Quota Player system.
The B.League’s signing period for the 2022-23 season opens on May 15.
Slaughter only played a total of 12 games for Northport.
He averaged 17.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game during the Philippine Cup while norming 14.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in the import-laden conference.
