UAAP gives back to affected communities for Christmas

Despite the cancellation of the games, the 83rd season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines is still not yet over.

This as the league is giving back to the affected communities of the on-going pandemic.

UAAP’s Board of Managing Directors, headed by Season 83 and 84 president Nongnong Calanog, have decided to forego their annual Christmas party. Instead, they used were able to raise PHP 200,000 to buy goods.

The packs were prepared by the student-athletes of Adamson University still stranded in the campus.

All in all, a total of 390 families in Payatas, Bagong Silangan, and Montalban were the beneficiaries of the drive.

Other members of the league’s BMD are La Salle’s Edwin Reyes (Season 83 and 84 Treasurer); Adamson’s Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM (Vice President) and Fr. Andrew Bayal; Ateneo’s Em Fernandez and Erika Dy; Far Eastern University’s Anton Montinola and Mark Molina; National University’s Sergio Yu and Nilo Ocampo.

Completing the BMD are University of the East’s Zosimo Battad and Rod Roque; UP’s Fidel Nemenzo and Kiko Diaz; and University of Santo Tomas’s Fr. Rodel Cansancio, OP and Gilda Kamus.

It had been a busy year for the BMD tackling numerous league affairs on a weekly basis despite the cancellation of the second semester of Season 82 and the entirety of Season 83.
