Abat lifts Cignal Ultra to sweep of INA squad in Dota Pro Circuit

Denz “Abat” Anedez put on a show in Cignal Ultra’s 2-0 sweep of The Prime in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season One Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier Stage Two, Friday evening.

Abat, who is in his first DPC stint, put up a game-high 18 kills, five deaths, and four assists playing Phantom Assassin to help Cignal Ultra take the opener. He also had 447 last hits and 13 creeps denied for a total of 764 gold per minute.

It was a tight encounter in Game One with Cignal finishing the match ahead by just a solitary kill in the tally, 30-29. The Warriors, though, were able to punish a risky play from Rusman “Rusman” Hadi (Monkey King) and finally tip the scales to their favor.

The opening match lasted for 42 minutes and nine seconds.

James “Jamesy” John (Dragon Knight) finished with 10 kills, four deaths, and eight assists for Cignal while offlaner Van “Van” Manalaysay (Tidehunter) added 20 assists laced with six deaths.

On the other hand, Rusman spearheaded The Prime with 10 kills, three deaths, and 16 assists in the Game One loss.

The Indonesians tried to end the match at a draw, but Abat’s monster 19-2-13 stat line with his Phantom Assassin in Game Two helped the Filipinos take the 2-0 sweep.

Cignal, who ranks third in Group A with a 1-0-0 record, will go up against Team Veteran (0-1-1) and HOYO (1-1-0) on January 9, Saturday.
