Alab Pilipinas’ three Filipino-Americans Jason Brickman, Jeremiah Grey, and Brandon Rosser were part of the first batch of hopefuls to submit their PBA Draft application forms.
However, it’s going to be a race against time as they try to secure two important documents – their Bureau of Immigration Certificate of Recognition and Department of Justice Affirmation.
All three have their Philippine passports already.
According to one of Tiebreaker Times’ sources, Grey is asking for an appeal from the PBA Board of Governors if he could accomplish getting those two documents after the January 27 deadline but no later than the week prior to the draft, which is set on March 14.
Gray, 24, is an athletic 6-foot-4 swingman who has dazzled with Alab and Mighty Sports. During his first year with Alab, the Dominican University of California normed Gray 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks
It’s been a long time coming for Brickman, on the other hand.
Already 29 years of age, the heady floor general only played for a Philippine-based club team last year.
Since graduating from LIU Brooklyn back in 2014, the 5-foot-11 guard played in Moscow, Bayreuth, Malaysia, and a couple of clubs in Thailand.
He was the 2016 ABL Finals MVP and 2018 TBL regular season MVP.
Rosser, the brother of Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, is a 26-year-old, 6-foot-7 banger. He averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds last ABL Season.
Besides the trio, also submitting their application forms last Monday were Andre Paras, SMART-SBP 3X3 player Kyle Matthew Sanchez, and Shem Magallanes – a 5-foot-8 guard who played high school ball in Caybiga.
