BREN’s Duckeyyy, Pheww cleared of COVID-19 after false positive test

BREN Esports head coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro and team captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel have been cleared of COVID-19, Monday.

The entire BREN Esports contingent composed of Duckeyyy, Pheww, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Mico “Coco” Sampang, Efphraim “Ejhay” Sambrano, CJ “Ribo” Ribo, David “FlapTzy” Canon, and Allan “Lusty” Castromayor underwent a series of swab tests prior to their flight to Singapore for the M2 World Championships last Friday.

Duckeyyy and Phewww, however, tested positive in the initial set of tests. The two later tested negative, with initial results declared as false positive, giving them the green light to fly with the team.

They were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital upon arrival in Singapore for COVID-19 clearance, which lasted for three days.

Both of them are now at the Shangri-La Hotel for their 14-day quarantine.

“Yep, we’re here now at the hotel,” Duckeyyy confirmed to Tiebreaker Times.

BREN Esports leads a stacked Group C, which has MPL Invitational champion and MPL-Indonesia grand finalist Alter Ego and Japan’s 10S Gaming Frost.

The group stages take place from January 18 to 20 in Singapore. Meanwhile, the playoffs will take place two days later from January 22 to 24.
