In its title defense of the Southeast Asian Games crown, the Philippine Olympic Committee believes that luck will be in play.
Succeeding 2019 SEA Games Philippines chef de mission Butch Ramirez is his PSC commissioner Ramon Fernandez.
The Games will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from November 21 to December 2.
“We want to give it back to the Philippine Sports Commission which is a constant partner,” said POC president Bambol Tolentino.
Back in 2019, Team Pilipinas raked a record 149 golds to go along with 117 silvers and 121 bronzes across 56 events.
The Hanoi Games is looking to host 40 sports.
Football Atty. Edwin Gastanes will still be the POC’s secretary-general while skateboarding’s Carl Sambrano, sepak takraw’s Karen Caballero, and golf’s Valeriano Floro II are the deputy sec-gens of administration, NSA affairs, and international affairs, respectively.
Fencing’s Richard Gomez heads the constitution and by-laws commission. Members of the committee are POC general counsel Alberto Agra and cycling’s Marcus Andaya and Avelino Sumagui.
For the arbitration commission, Agra was named chairman. Under him are badminton’s Epok Quimpo and fencing’s Celso Dayrit.
Rowing’s Pato Gregorio heads the ethics commission with sailing’s Ernesto Echauz and bridge’s Gerry Alquiros.
Basketball’s Al Panlilio was appointed chairman of the ways and means commission with arnis’ Miguel Zubiri and kickboxing’s Francis Tolentino.
Triathlon’s Tom Carrasco was named chief of the technical commission with wrestling’s Alvin Aguilar and judo’s Roland Llamas.
Women’s in sports will be led by bowling’s Bong Coo together with swimming’s Akiko Thompson and fencing’s Marilee Estampador.
