BREN Esports finally got its breakthrough victory in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven regular season on Sunday.
Banking on Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and David “FlapTzy” Canon, the defending champions scored a 2-1 reverse sweep on Execration.
KarlTzy (Claude) and FlapTzy (Khaleed) spearheaded BREN Esports’ offensive onslaught in Game Three. The former finished with five kills, two deaths, and nine assists while the latter, who notched the MVP award in the decider, recorded a clean 7-0-8 line.
BREN Esports put on the exclamation mark entering the 11-minute mark with a lord take and wipe out.
BREN Esports, who dropped its first three games of the season, is now at the second spot of Group A with a 1-3 record good for four points — a point behind number one seed Aura PH.
Execration brought out BREN Esports’ kryptonite in Game One, implementing the feeding strategy spearheaded by Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Diggie.
Though KarlTzy’s Claude managed to get a decent farm in the early game, FlapTzy (Yu Zhong) suffered the consequences of constantly backing up his core.
With FlapTzy a non-factor in the opener, Renz “Renzio” Cadua’s Benedetta wreaked havoc against BREN Esports which put Execration ahead in the series.
Renzio won the MVP plum in Game One with a perfect 8-0-4 kill-death-assist tally.
Not wanting to go down without a fight, KarlTzy put up a monster Brody performance in Game Two, completely obliterating the Execration contingent in one of the most dominant performances this season.
KarlTzy scored nine of BREN Esports’ 15 kills in Game Two. He also had four assists without a single death en route to the MVP award.
Execration will keep the third spot in Group B with a 1-2 standing and four points.
BREN Esports looks to make it two in a row against Work Auster Force on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30 pm while Execration will go up against arch-rival Nexplay Esports on Friday, April 9 at 7:30 pm.
