Kuku-less T1 bows out of ONE: Singapore Major

T1 has bowed out of the ONE Esports Singapore Major, Sunday evening.

But the Carlo “Kuku” Palad-less squad was able to take down one of the best teams in history to soften the blow of getting booted out of the first-ever Major of the year.

Through dominant performances from Filipino midlaner Karl “Karl” Jayme, T1 obliterated Team Nigma via a 2-0 sweep.

The 22-year-old Karl (Puck) put up monster numbers of 21 kills and 21 assists against just one death in T1’s 52-14 Game One annihilation of Team Nigma – who was mostly composed of members of the former Team Liquid squad that won it all in The International 2017.

Newly-acquired carry Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon backstopped his midlaner with 11 kills and 15 assists against two deaths playing Monkey King. But it was the support duo of Kenny “Xepher” Deo and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon who paved the way for T1’s domination.

The former dished out 27 assists on top of seven kills and four deaths playing Rubick while the latter registered seven kills, four deaths, and 21 assists playing Abaddon.

Team Nigma, who missed the services of Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, was led by legendary carry Amer “Miracle-“ Al-Barkawi who played his signature Shadow Fiend. He finished with four kills, nine deaths, and an assist.

The former TI champions had more fight in them in Game Two with Miracle’s Void Spirit leading the charge. However, 23savage’s monster Lycan game helped T1 close out the series at 2-0.

T1 then suffered a 2-0 sweep from PSG.LGD to officially end their campaign.

The South Korean squad, along with Team Nigma and AS Monaco Gambit, were the first teams to get eliminated from the Singapore Major.
