Duckeyyy says BREN’s hunger is back

When BREN Esports dropped its third consecutive series against Aura PH last Saturday, coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro knew that something needed to change so they could turn things around.

So, he gathered his wards in a room to talk about their personal motivations for this season.

“Last night after nung loss namin versus Aura PH medyo mahaba yung naging usapan namin about change of mindset, change ng disiplina mga bagay na kailangan naming pagtuunan ng pansin kasi for the last couple of weeks ay medyo parang nakalimutan na ng mga bata,” shared Duckeyyy in BREN Esports’ post-match interview last Sunday.

“Right now, medyo bumabalik kami doon sa pace namin. Bumabalik na yung sense of motivation and luckily, mukhang bumabalik na talaga siya.”

Though he did not disclose specifically what transpired in that room, Duckeyyy said that the team was very receptive to the discussion. And that long conversation surely lit a fire in BREN Esports’ hearts as they finally got their breakthrough win in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven.

Despite losing the opener, BREN Esports, led by the Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and David “FlapTzy” Canon, won via a reverse 2-1 sweep over Execration last Sunday to chalk up their first victory after losing to ONIC PH, Nexplay Solid, and Aura PH, in that order, to open the season.

BREN Esports remains in the heated race in Group A with a 1-3 record (four points) good for third place. Aura and ONIC are tied at the top spot with five points each.

“Naging receptive kasi yung team when we had the talk last night na parang, ‘Guys, kailangan nating gumising!’

“Kasi honestly hindi ko naman sila pinapagalitan when they make mistakes kasi I don’t think na punishment… or sigawan is magiging healthy pa sa kanila kasi these guys have been playing for way too long alam na nila sa sarili nila, matatanda na sila. Inaayos ko na lang yung maliliit na bagay na feeling ko yun yung naging factor,” Duckey said.

“Nakikita ko na ulit na bumabalik na yung motivation ng team, I feel that these guys still have the championship form, for now, it’s just that may mga issues nga na lumabas nung first three series namin na I think nakikita na nila kung paano namin maayos. I’m so happy na receptive sila doon sa usapan namin kagabi,” he added.

BREN Esports will next face Work Auster Force on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30 pm.
